Great Maiden’s Blush
This feature starring Miriama McDowell and Renee Lyons was a collaboration with writer/director/producers Andrea Bosshard and Shane Loader through their company Torchlight Films.
It tells of two first-time single mothers, a girl racer and a pianist and gardener, who share a room in a post-natal ward after the birth of their babies. A precarious friendship develops between the two as they face the challenges of new motherhood and help each other confront their pasts.
The Great Maiden’s Blush won multiple awards including best actress for Miriama McDowell, and best independent feature at the NZ Film and Television Awards.
